Question Question on Radiator damage

I've been a new Lightning owner now for about 4 weeks (red '01). I love the truck to death. But after the 2nd or 3rd day I noticed the radiator front looked as if somebody had dropped a 2-foot metal bar on it diagonally... about 1 inch wide. There also was bent metal on the small radiator as well (I'm assuming this one has to do with the intercooler). Functionally this damage doesn't look like it is hurting anything but cosmetically it looks just horrible. Mainly because I know its there and if your at the right angle in front of the truck you can see it very well through the grill.

I took the truck in to the dealer and showed them the problem and they said that kind of damage was common with the Ls and that there was nothing they could do. They actually said it was a problem at the factory.

Has anybody else noticed similar damage?

Am I getting yanked here?

No damage to my radiator. After my engine swap, there was some minor damage to the fins on my IC radiator. Mechanic straightened them out.

You can buy a fin straightener. If you cant find it at auto parts store try HVAC supply. I used one on a AC condenser. TYpically they have a couple different combs for different fin spacing.
