Bras can do more damage than they prevent. Unless you are willing to remove it regularly to clean it and the truck underneath and make sure it is tight before every drive you will end up with a nice design left by the bra.

I just got rid of a half bra i had on my old 04. It covered the front end of the hood and it had SVT stitched in white in the front. I had to remove it every couple of weeks and remove tiny crap that got stuck between the bra and the hood. My truck was white and when i removed it for the last time it looked kinnda yellow in that area, i had to buff that mess out but i had no paint-rock chips.

Honestly, Id just pony up the money for the 3M helicopter tape (not sure what the trade name is for automotive applications, but it was originaly developed to protect the leading edge of helicopter blades; that should be some indication of how well it works)

Its a Lightning. Its worth the $ IMO

Agreed.

Bras on cars or trucks are completely counter-intuitive IMO. The point of adding them is to do what? Protect the paint so it still looks good? and yet you put it on and it makes ANY car or truck look like crap, AND it ruins the paint. Heh...

Get the 3M coating if you are that worried about the damage; otherwise you can sit tight and re-paint later or just deal with it.

Putting a bra on your truck does not enhance it's looks in my opinion (see below) and could lead to more damage than it prevents. Having a bra on the front of a truck reminds me of my grandmother having that crappy clear plastic on all of her furniture to protect it. I bought my Lightning because I felt it was a bad *** truck that I just had to own, but I use it as a truck and although I try to keep it nice, the bottom line it's still a truck and might get a few nicks in it's life. Below is a link to a place that sells bras.

Angry

I found this web site a while back but did not make a purchace. Still thinking about it. I got a few chips (6 that I could find that where not there before)on the front bumper and hood on 1 ride through Boston that the bra would have prevented.

I would only put it on when I thought I would be at risk.
