Yes it is a SVT dealer but the only requirments to be a SVT dealer are that you have to have 1 million dollars in parts at your dealership, no special mechanic just parts

Sounds like you have been driving that thing kinda HARD, I wonder if THAT has anything to do with all the problems?.
You should have have taken it back to the dealer for a checkup the first time it would not burn em off ALL the way through 1st and chirp 2nd. I would be upset if I had a 2-3 shift "stubble" also. And the "neddle" half hotter than normal ? Grind "adn" a pop from the tranny ? 15ft burn out and no marks ? And do not forget the "idealing" problem.

Cool

Just curious, you say your truck never had a chip in it, but it use to chrip the tires shifting to second. Every stock computer shuts down 4 cylinders between shifts, or so I thought

Most of my problems were due to BAD gas and a clouged filter. The convertor also was going bad and eventualy went.

Coincidence? I don't think so. I thought I would try the odometer diagnosis trick this morning to see if it might give me a clue why my O.D. off light is blinking, before I take it in for service. I got the same damned code, dtc 5284. My oil pressure gauge reads perfectly fine, the pressure is right in the middle, not too low, not too high, so I doubt very much that there is a problem with the oil pressure switch. I wonder if this is some kind of default code on the Lightning? Didn't tell me a damned thing about my tranny, though.

alphadoggy,

I had the blinking O/D light on my F-150 XLT and it was a bad selenoid for the 1-2 shift on the trans. A few others have had the same thing. Mine was shifting kind of strange. Is yours shifting any different?

Our oil pressure guage is just a switch, oil pressure or no oil pressure. There is no way to tell how high or low it is.

Yeah, Blue, I posted earlier, my 1-2 shift is really screwed up. I thought perhaps it had something to do with my recent install of the shift kit, it almost seemed that it was bumping into the rev limiter, but that doesn't make much sense since the shift kit doesn't alter shift rpm, only pressure, and the chip was not reprogrammed for a different shift point. Your theory about the solenoid makes a lot more sense.
And 99, if the oil pressure gauge is just a switch, what's the point of the needle, all you'd need is a warning light? According to my manual the needle is supposed to fluctuate according to the oil pressure.
And MadMax, laugh all you want, I'm pretty sure Gator is correct, the ecu is programmed to shut down 4 cylinders momentarily during the 1-2 shift so that the wheels won't break loose, which evidently Ford thought would be too disconcerting to us Lightning drivers. The chips correct this, which is why we all get scratch on the 1-2 shift now.
