Used '99 or new '00
OK, here is the question --- if you had the chance to buy a new '00 for 26,500 or a used '99 with 7,000 miles for 23,500, what would you do ---- and why???
I would buy the new one. $3,000 is not enough savings for 7000 miles and the time that has expired on warranty. Used vehicles just never give me the same feeling of ownership that buying new does.

Either one is a steal at those prices... The 99 more so. Average 99 with that kind of mileage is still going for $25-26k IMHO...
I paid 23,500 for my 99 and it has 20000 more miles, and I still think I got a decent deal...

Good point. But then again, at 7000 miles, the engines broken in, and you could spend the 3 grand you save on mods and be nicely equipped as opposed to have a new, albeit stock 00...
To each is own I suppose is the moral of this story. I don't there is a wrong answer to the question posed. Both are decent deals.

I've put 11,000 hard miles on my Lighting. And all 10,998 miles are MY miles.
I had the choice of a red 1999 with 2000 miles or a red 2000 with 2 miles. If I went back in time, I'd buy the 2000 again and nail it just like I did on July 15th, 6:30 pm.

Either one is a good deal, I looked at a 2000 L USED $28,989 with 2750 miles......
Too much for a used truck, I am going to save, and see what I am going to do.

Buy new, you never know how hard the truck was run. Not saying that it happened, but the guy could have driving around at 60 mph in first gear. When ever buying a performance car, I think you should buy new. That way you know what the car has been through

Ivanhoe,
Your post doesn't specify if you're talking about L.'s or something else. If it's L's or any other performance vehicle, I'd buy the new one so you avoid the liklehood that someone else has abused it. If it's a more pedestrian vehicle, with little chance that it's been thrashed, I'd go with the price savings on the used one, assuming cash or similar finance rates.
