Question MTX Thunderforms online??

Has anyone bought or seen these online? I have been searching the net forever. Most of the things I have read on this site say to buy them w/o the MTX subs...any other opinions? I was thinking about getting only the enclosure and getting a pair of 8000s...any thoughts there?
Your opinions would be much appreciated!

I bought them online but I used the MyGeek shopping assistant to do it. I also bought mine minus subs, I haven't done the install yet but I have organised some Rockfords to be put in (can't remember the models right now it was about 3 months ago I arranged it).

sorry to bust your bubble, but the 8000's wont fit into the thunderform, they are to deep. you should look at the depth allowed for the thunderforms begire you make a decision on your subs. hope that helps.

I bought the loaded Thunderform last year through Crutchfield. It showed up two days later...I have nothing but good things to say about Crutchfield. Their prices are a little higher, but you also get wiring harnesses and install diagrams for your vehicle for free.
I haven't been nearly as happy with the MTX-6000 10" subs. If I had it to do again, I would go for 12s in a custom box. The Thunderform is fine for a high-end 'consumer' stereo...they look great and perform well up to a point. However, if you want a really good setup, you'll have to look elsewhere. (JMHO)

I just bought a Blaupunkt head, cd-changer, infinity 5X7's, and dynomat from crutchfield and I agree, they give you everything you need right down to the speaker adapters so you don't have to cut your wires. I found a MTX thunderform in the classified section of this website for 175 bucks. After 15 hours of installation last weekend I can say the truck sounds awesome. There's more drop then you'll ever need and 10's are much better for rock 'punchiness' then 12's. If you get a good head unit that has a built in EQ/crossover or just adding an eq to your system it will help in 'tuning' your subs/mids/highs correctly. I've heard $2500 systems sound like garbage because they didn't have it set up correctly. My Blaupunkt (along with other high end systems) lets me adjust the Subs and highs frequency response on the fly, this really makes a difference depending on different kinds of music. Also, make sure you get the foam baffles for your 5x7's, these make all the difference in the world.
