Question Ford alarm?

Could someone provide some insight on the correct Ford alarm system for a 2001 Lightning? While I've had great success with Clifford alarms on my other cars, the warranty issues I had with my Cobra makes me want to stick with a factory system on my Lightning.

I did a search and found a part number someone posted for our L's; it's for the system 4 alarm (includes shock sensor and siren, which I want): F3AAZ-19A361-C. I called the parts department at the dealer and the salesman said this system wasn't listed as being compatible for Lightnings. Also, to keep the warranty intact, does the dealer have to install the alarm or can I have my regular alarm shop handle the installation? Finally, how long should the installation take? Sorry for all of the questions but I want to make sure I have all of my facts straight before I proceed any further.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

I have the Ford alarm on my 99 L. I beleive for warranty it would have to be installed by a Ford dealer. I don't know or think a 2001 should be any different. Install should take (given work load) less then a day. I wok at a dealer and will try to get more info on your questions.

Doug, I read you post:
https://www.f150online.com/f150board...L/007575.html, that's where I found the part number for the Ford System 4 alarm. The problem is the part's guy's database didn't list this alarm as the right one for Lightnings but it wouldn't be the first time they given me incorrect information. Also, are you certain about the one hour installation time, when I checked with the service department, they said it takes three hours to install the alarm? That time seems way off base, since these alarms are supposed to piggyback onto our trucks' existing wiring.

Steve, let me know what you find out at your dealership?

Thanks again guys,
David
