Question Anyone have a GPS Navigation system installed?

I am thinking of getting a Pioneer AVIC-Z2 for the L but do not know if it would fit and be compatible. Does anyone have pics of one of these installed in their L?

Let me see a pic of any navigation system that you guys might have installed.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have any pics conveneint, but I have the kenwood unit with the GPS unit addon. Works great.

Typical install problems of getting a 2 DIN unit in, but it's not that bad, just a bit of cutting and it's cramped back there.

got the Kenwood unit installed in my dually... good unit, and easy to disable so you can watch DVD's and enter directions while driving.

Kenwood uses Garmin for this system.

I have the Kenwood DNX7100 with built in Garmin GPS, it is a 7" Monitor.. if you plan on installing that you best have a dremel ready.. lots of cutting on the inside and also very careful trimming on the outside as well..

thought about doing this a while back. then the portables like Tom-Tom and Garmin came out..not married to one car but could be moved around to other cars. brilliant if you have more than one car!

I added the AVIC about a year ago. It fits great and looks factory installed. All the back lit buttons are the same color as the a/c controls. I also added the back up camera which was a $200 option.

I agree 4 vehicles between the two of us, only one with built in GPS, the portable works for me, and no trimming.

Crash383,

Do you have pics? That would be sweet. I really want to get the AVIC but its to pricy to just get and install without actually seeing what it looks like.

Thanks in Advance.

I've got an Apline NVE-851A in my truck (hooked up to a flip-out display, the old CVE-800)

I'm about to get the Pioneer Avi D3 because of the bang for the buck with the bells and whistles. Pretty unbeatable. Only issue is Pioneer nav is well known for being the worst.
