Post DOHC conversion.

Just wondering.

Say I have a 2000 Navigator, and a 99-00 lightning. Could I swap heads to make the L DOCH and still blown, and put the stock heads on the Navi. Just by swapping parts between the 2 vehicles? I know it sounds crazy, but hey, if nobody though of crazy, there would be no L right

I think BaBolt had similar ideas, or at least that's what I interpreted from some of his posts. Maybe if he reads your post he'll say. I know he was looking into a different head set-up.

Somebody correct me if i'm wrong but i was under the impression the L engine was DOHC.
The difference between the Navigator and the L's engines are the 32-valves in the Navigator's.
And unfortunatly the Eaton is a 2-valve per cylinder supercharger, so it doesn't fit the Navi. heads

The Lightning engine is a single overhead cam (SOHC), 16 valve design. Of course there are two camshafts, one for each head .

Ok, I figured it wouldn't work, but was worth a look, as I plan on getting a L one day, and I have a navigator, that will be sold after I get the L, and who looks at the motors

But, guess not

Slow:

Don't feel uneasy about asking these questions. I recently inherited Mom's '92 Town Car with the SOHC 4.6 and asked all over the various Hot Rod Lincoln sites if it was possible to swap for the Continental DOHC motor which would have started me off with 290 hp vs 210. The thought being that it was easier to get to 350 hp from 290 than from 210.

Got shot up pretty bad and am probably going to go the SC/Heads/exhaust route on the SOHC to try to get to the same place. Apparently nothing works well when swapping motors anymore.
