Question New Owner With Questions

Hello I just bought a 2000 silver Lightning this past saturday. I was wanting to know what I should be on the lookout for in the way of problems? I traded in my 1998 Dodge Ram SS/T on this truck and am very happy with my decision so far. So if anyone will let me know what to look for I would apprecite it. I would think the 2000 would not have as many problems as a 1999 so I hope I made a good purchase.

Thanks
John..

Well I have to say that this lightning is getting better gas milage than my SS/T did. Best I ever got with the dodge was 15.1 on the interstate with cruse set at 70MPH. I am getting 18 in the 2 tanks that I have bought so far with the lightning. But I have been playing a little also. I have noticed small loud cars do not rev at me in this truck like they did when I had my dodge. I guess they do not want to reach up that high on the food chain. But Cops also take more of a intrest in me now. But I am having fun owning it. But anything I need to keep a close eye on other than the intercooler tank ?

Thanks
John..

Must be that lead foot syndrome I've been hearing about. I have 1000 miles on my 01 L and never been above 13 MPG.

LOL Black Bolt!

Regarding cop attention, I've noticed that I get some too. However, I think it's more admiration than death-warning stares. And we get a LOT less negative attention than a typical sports car, not to mention insurance pricing, the ability to haul...

Oops, almost got started again...

Most of the younger officers are pretty cool about the few "L"'s in my area. i came across one few weeks ago at a stop light. i was sitting in front in the right lane, when a white LS-1 starts noseing up in the left reving. i turned my head and immediatly noticed something was wrong with this picture. my warped mind quickly sprung into action,,, some lunitic must have beaten up a cop, stole his uniform, stole his police car, and now he want to race me. the lunitic motioned for me to roll down the window. i obliged in case he had stolen the cops weaponry also. he says, are those things as fast as they say they are? i said, actually they are a lot faster than they say they are, they are way underated, kinda like your car. ( a little diplomacy, never hurts, just in case he was a cop, or a crazed loony, with a gun) he says, lets run them up to the interstate entrance ( about an 1/8 or 1000ft) ahead. he said, not full out, no burnouts, just want to see what that blowers got. we both took off hard without burning them, and i had him by at least 2 lenghts when the blue light came on. i went right onto the interstate, and he went straight down the highway with the lights a flashin. he was probably in hot pursuit or something, or needed to get on the backroads before the real cop woke up. either way, i'm taking it as a kill

Yeah, 16? How old are you...?
My last tank was 11.4, and that's high!
