Post Sub box and amp rack covering question?

I got my amp rack done today and now I need to cover it. What do you stereo guys suggest covering the box with? I have a black carpet in the truck and will have two sub boxes to cover as well when I get to building them. I am going to cover the box in black. The amp rack is an L shape and will rest against the back wall and on the floor. The two boxes and amp rack will cover most the whole floor across the back and up to the lip on the back wall. Thanks for any suggestions.

John

Cool

Hey John, Most stereo shops sell acoustically transparent carpeting that can be used to cover speaker boxes and speakers without damping the sound. Looks almost like cut pile automotive carpet without a backing (in order to be acoustically transparent). Affordable and easy to work with, but sometimes, especially if using a darker color carpet, you have to paint the boxes so that you can't see through the carpeting. Is your box going to enclose the amp rack, or will the amps be exposed? I've had trouble overheating amps when fully enclosed, fixable with computer-sized cooling fans. Good Luck!
