Bras
Did a search, couldn't find any pictures.
Does anyone have a picture of an L with a Bra on it? I am having problems with rock chips.

Trabuco: But these small surface scratches, are they more noticable than annoying rock chips?
JoeLightning: This is true, but sometimes you can't help it on the highway.

Zeus, I have the SVT bra on my 2k red Lightning. I put it on about 1 month ago, Sorry, I don't have a picture with the bra yet. IMHO, the black bra with red SVT logo looks good on red.
Like you, I had gotten a few small rock chips and I had to do something about it. My L is a garage monster many days because I don't have to drive it everyday, and so I can avoid any bad weather. I never drive it in the rain so the wipers have never been on. I've put on 2650 miles since I got it last october.
I own my L outright, and I will be keeping it for along time. I never even allow it to get slightly dirty. Trust me when I tell you that in 5 years, any unprotected L will be completely peppered with those nasty rock and grit pock marks. I'll try to get a digital picture up for you this week.
I think the secret to minimizing any damage from the bra is to keep everything very clean and if it gets wet, get it off in a hurry. I wash my truck almost every week, and what I do is remove the bra, and shop vac the back side to remove any grit. I know there will be some minor scratches, but to me that is 1000% better than rock chips.
mracer
P.S. I forgot to mention I live in a very populated area, where the road construction is always going on. It seems that we have 1 f&*^%&g dump truck (Argh!!!) for every 3 cars.

MRacer -- Thanks for the help. I have seen your bra on my friends L: I like. But my rock chips are down by my fog lights. Does the SVT bra cover that? That's where I need coverage.
And for me, keeping my car clean is not a problem -- I work at a car wash.

mracer, what year is your L. The reason is that I ordered a bra from icollection for my 99. But in the meantime I traded my 99 for a 2001 and was wondering if it will fit. Now before everyone jumps on my $*#@, I purchased a L car cover from icollection for my 99. The fit was great and I was completely happy with it. Now when I put it on my 2001 the fit is extremely tight and when on the door handles and fender flares buldge the cover, where they are covered. So something is different on the body, I thought the nose is different, but not sure.
I think a large bra is alot more noticeable and unsightly than a few small rock chips.
JoeLightning is right, tailgating is the main reason for rock chips. Your supposed to follow the "two second" rule when following someone. But... all that does is give the nasty little rocks a chance to bounce and hit your lower front facia. If you hang back like "three seconds" your alot less likely to get any chips at all. After all, rocks don't just jump off the ground all by themselves .. they come from the cars in front of you.
Freeway or not, if anyone has a big rock chip problem ... your following to close.

Ooops, I meant to say "Noticeable and UGLY"
Don't bother to flame me for that comment. My opinion is just that.. my opinion.
I saw the SVT bra in the literature I got with the truck. And if I had to get one, I would get that one.
Crap, my therapist told me to try to be nice and not force my opinions on everyone. BUT I would rather repaint the front of my truck once a year then put one of those UGLY bras on.
Whew, I feel better now ...... thanks

Fast Gator,
My L is a 2k, and yeah the bra does say it is for a 99, but nothing in the overall body shape has changed 99-01, so I don't see how it could be a problem. The bra protects the entire front end. From under the front all the way up onto and including the front of the hood.
I don't wanna step on any toes, but it is impossible to prevent rock chips by hanging back. In my area, nearly bumper to bumper traffic is unavoidable. As soon as you back off in a line of traffic, some sh$thead will pull over into your lane. Keep it up and soon you will be parking on I-40. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO STAY 3 SECONDS BEHIND THE CAR IN FRONT.
Come live where I live, drive where I have to drive, and see.
