Start the Truck....FAIL

I think my starter might be blown...truck wouldnt start the other day, had a tech at work bang on it while I tried to turn it over but nothing. THEN she starts in neutral! So after that I had no problem starting up in park for the rest of the day. But yesterday shes shot again. So I just got out of work and tried her...I slammed the hood a few times in an attempt to jostle theconnection and it started to turn over once but unfortunately I missed it =P
So if it doesnt start Im having her towed in the morning to the dealership close to my house. I rather have it towed to the Ford dealer where I work but its half an hour away and not realistic. So the point is...I took out a bumper2bumper/powertrain so I should be covered but the dealership Im going to is ran by jackasses so I want to do my homework and go in there knowing full well whats up. Ive seen some TSBs that look similar to my issue but unsure...the closest one is "VEHICLES WITHOUT THE COOLANT LOCK-OFF MAY EXHIBIT A NO START CONDITION" but Id like to get some opinions from anyone whos had similar issues to determine whether or not this is just a blown starter or a common F150 issue.
Thanks!

A friend of mine had his Park/Neutral safety switch go bad or the linkage was loose on his 99L. The garage he took it too "tightened" the linkage. I did some work on it and backed it in and out of my garage a few times. Whatever they did I would fix it properly...It took 2 gorillas and a small boy just to shift the thing.
