News on Intercooler Issue

...so VERY true, but the point in case here is to NOT run your truck into the ground w/ this quick and simple workaround. Driving it does not hurt it, but pounding on it w/out an intercooler would ultimately probably do damage.
It will not be a recall, just a warranty issue dealt w/ on a case by case basis. This really sux for those who will be out of warranty, but once again I suggest getting an aftermarket warranty. I have mine through Geico and it's only 35 every 6 months for bumper to bumper coverage w/ only a 250 deductible. That's probably the cheapest around, I can have it fixed anywhere, and Geico is extremely reputable and stands behind their products/offerings.
I'm sure there will be some to get screwed, and there will be others that will have the intercooler replaced w/out so much a hint of current failure, just because they have a wonderful service manager. I do believe SVT when they say they will help to stand behind us, and I really hope that if someone has 50k miles and it fails that they would be willing to step up to the plate and fix it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for anyone that comes upon that, though...

1) Much less power than with a working intercooler.
2) Piston surface temperature outside of operating range.</font>

So, will it be classified more along the lines of a TSB? I agree it probably will not be considered or termed a "recall".
My dealer told me about the imminent release of a new, redesigned intercooler to take care of the problem.
Meanwhile, they got my replacement one within 24hrs. Why would I want to disconnect the pump and poke around in my truck, when they got my replacement one in a timely fashion and installed it within a day?
I'll take it back in when/if the TSB actually comes out. My first one lasted 14k miles. If this one lasts that long, it means another 18+ months for me. That's fine. I'd rather do that than unplug the pump and have no intercooler for a blower/engine combo that was _specifically_ designed for one.
