Funny L Story
The other night my wife, daughter and I went to the Harrisburg Sam's Club store. After shopping I took my daughter over to look out of the window while my wife checks out. The wife starts talking to the (20ish) guy at the register and I see her laughing and pointing at me. I ask her what was so funny and she told me he was telling her about his fast car (some type of ricer) that he had turbocharged so he could win at street racing. My wife tells him "my husband has a supercharged truck, it called a Lightning. Have you ever heard of them." He says "ohhh man, Those things are fast, I just got spanked by one of those the other night. I couldn't believe I got beat by a truck." He then asks her if they have 280hp and my wife laughs and says no try 360. Then he starts with the "ohhh man..." again.
Just a funny story I thought I'd share with you. BTW: Anyone on here spank a ricer in Harrisburg lately? :-)

ROFLMAO, fell out of the chair and banged my head on the speaker, but it was worth it!

Good story. I'm amazed the guy was honest. I just can't stand ricer mentality. They think they have such fast cars and they have to advertise how their motor is just a 1.8 liter, or 1.6 liter or whatever. I got nasty with one of them at the track the other night. He came up to me, wanted to know what a Lightning runs, I told him. He said ok, cool, I just wanted to know how fast my car runs cause I beat one the other night. I said what do you have? He replies, just a 1.6 liter. I said in a stern voice, well, it must be one hell of a modded 1.6 liter to beat a lightning. He says oh no, did you see my buddy running tonight? (I'm thinking what an idiot, yeah, like I know out of all these cars which is his buddy). I ask which car? He says, it the honda running mid 11's. I said what's in it? He says just a 1.8 liter. I said gimme a break what the hell is it? Again he says just a 1.8 liter, then he says, oh look he just started up and is heading to the line. I see this whatever thing it is with ladder bars in the rear, it has a full roll cage, completely gutted interior, etc, etc, etc. He gets into the water box and as soon as he starts to spin up, the tires go up in a cloud of smoke and the motor sounds like its turning about 13,000. I said to the guy, don't give me this crap about 1.8 liter, that thing is a full mod strip car. He says, well, it started as a street car. I then basically demand what the hell mods are done and he tells me it weighs 1900 lbs, is modded to the hilt with a 150 hp nitrous and it's putting about 325 hp to the wheels. I told the guy that I can't stand it when you guys do something this extreme then tell me its just a 1.8 liter. Anyhow the guy ran an 11.31 at like 120 mph.
Peter B:
Yea I guess there are good and bad in all the car and truck groups. Sounds like he was just trying to jerk your chain. Isn't it funny though that even with all his mods our L's are still more powerful. My wife said he was a pretty nice kid. I say kid not out of disrespect but because my wife is 37, I'm 44 and he was in his early 20's. She got a kick out of talking to him about it and he seemed to get a kick out of talking to her.
Have a great week. Glad you enjoyed the story.
