set heater blending door in one position

if the blending door on my 2000 f150 is bad is there anyway to just go in and push it to all hot or all cold so either the heat or ac will work?i read that if the actuator motor works you can some how use it to keep the door in one position or the other . any ideas?

Check what the door is actuated with. Some of the dampers use vacuum motors to divert between defrost, vent, and heat while using a cable for the temperature blend.

Either way - figure out where you want it, then either disconnect and plug the vacuum line to the motor, or don't bother with the cable - then finally perhaps find a way to wire the damper in that position so it won't move with the airflow.

If the actual blending door has failed - ugh. A slightly larger scope of work to divert the air where you want it. It can be done, but it would help to get ahold of a shop manual or suitable drawing to better explain what needs to happen to get the air where you want it.
