Question Airraid for dummies?

Need honest opinions here. Is it reasonable for someone with little (little = zero) experience working on cars to consider installing an airraid intake? Also, do dealers give you guys crap for having a filter? Everything I've seen on it looks really straightforward...

slowsuv,
you can do it cause i did. I am mr. dumb himself about doing anything mechanical==hell i can't even chew gum right and believe it or not i installed my airaid and a superchip all by my little bitty self. just follow the instructions and no problem. of course i took a couple of hours to do both(combination of scared and stupid factor) (most people do them in 30 to 40 mins).
i am leaving mine on when i go to the dealership( i only have 1098 miles on my truck)if they give me any crap i'll let my daughter take over.(lawyer-no cost to me) also there is a law protecting us mod idiots.
i have noticed tho that many take their mods off when they go to the dealership. Up to you-- no hassle if you take them off.

Steve,

Go for it. easy easy easy. I would recommend leaving the front panel off and running the supplied gasket down the side of the piece where panel attaches and air meter mounts. You can trim the gasket also. More air is a good thing. Not to mention maximum grinnage from the blower whine.

As for the dealer, I left it on when making trips to the dealer. Not one negative word was uttered but plenty of compliments were received. If they give you gruff, I would question entrusting them with you brand new ride anyway.

Installation is quite simple. My dealer had no problem with it until it came time for the intercooler replacement. He indicated that they would have to charge for removal and reinstallation if I left it on, so I saved myself the money and put the stock airbox on for the intercooler change out.
