Maybe,

The original Lightnings were made to be Baja raced. I remember hearing about the trucks allowing the GT40 heads to make it into the regulations if the trucks met homologation. hmmmm, maybe that's what this truck's gonna be winning, off road titles. I hope...kick the Tundra right where it needs it, the NUTZ !

A Baja L, now that sounds interesting. It look kind of cool in a prerunner type package, not on the street mind you, but blasting across the desert at 120 mph.

Lightning stuff is so easy to come by, I bet its all fake. Its expensive, but it people can and will buy the Bumper kit and ground effects and emblems for a lightning. Sometimes you gotta have something but you can't, so you build you own. But If it was a Lightning, then he would be stupid to offroad with that bumper and ground effects on it. One hit with those BFG's and you will tear those things up.

The prototype or a preproduction 1993 L was used for Baja racing and several production L's have been converted into 4x4s or pre-runners. I read a how to article several years ago for doing the conversion, I guess they like the modified frame of the gen 1s. Oh, by the way the article that I'd read on the prototype said that it beat a specially prepared Hummer in the race...

If you think a lifted L is bad, Chack this out. I was driving through So. Central LA late last year, and saw a black 99 that was lowered and had wire wheels that stuck out of the wheel wells about 3 inches. What a waste!

Only in LALA land.
