20 inch replica lightning wheels
1qkpkup, You are right the correct size would be the 305-35-20 but that 35 profile might be a little small for the L. I have heard from another member who used them and said the truck rode real hard. that is why I would go with the 295-40-20 even though you would pick up some height and change the speedo slightly. Its gonna be all for show and damn is it gonna look great. I can't wait. thanks 95rcobra.
Hello Members, For anyone who is ordering or interested in ordering the 20 inch chrome lightning wheels I have something for you. the company doing the chrome is Artistic plating in Cal. Go to their site at www.artisticplating.com and take the company tour. very impressive company. but then again its seem like anything that deals with cars or trucks in california is very impressive. they are the leaders. thanks 95rcobra
looks like a great place, I am going to call tomorrow and reserve my wheels...Bill

HDMINIUM, That great! they will look awesome on your white L. please remember that the direct line is 626-914-7725 and ask for Terry. He knows all about the discounts for the club member affiliates. just mention yours. tell him you have a 2000 lightning and give your name, address and phone #. also get the chrome lug nuts I got them discounted for $17.50 for all four wheels. good luck. 95rcobra(steve c.)
Won't using a 295-40-20 effectively lower your numeric final drive ratio due to the fact that it is off(too big) by about 3%.If so it will adversly affect your acceleration. However, the correct size, 315-35 will not fit properly on a 9" rim anyway.

Ok here's what I'm thinking for the most part.
For tires, we got the BFgoodrich G forces, dunlop SP 9000, and the bfgoodrich comp T/A's, all in a 295/40/20.
I will never go back to a 35 series tire for these reason's. In my area the roads suck, and while I don't have any problems with mine 35's now, I'm sure one of these days I'm going to be driving and cash out a rim. I don't want that to happen with these new ones. Plus I just think a 40 series would look the best on the truck.
Now you got to think about how much your going to drive the truck, and what type of wether your going to drive it in. I have another truck to drive if its a hurricane outside. So, I would then go with the stickiest tire they got. which one that is, I don't know yet. I'm going to do some research and see if its worth it for me to spend the extra 50 bucks on the G forces. I can tell you this, if there anything like the ones I got on now, I'm getting those. but the g-forces in a 20 are the new KDW's, W meaning water traction. But the compound is probably better, so.......
Either way the trucks going to look bad *** once its done. I can't wait.

Hey KILLA, I forgot that you were the one that had the 35's on your truck. are they really that bad. I will go with the 295-40-20 also even with the gear loss on the drivetrain. I will not have the 20's on the L all of the time. I just can't decide if I want to go the extra for the BFG gforce KDW's. that's a great tire. SP 9000's not bad either. tough choice. did you reserve your 20's yet. I can't wait. later 95rcobra.
HEY KILLA, YES thats all you had to do. but if you want to check to make sure he got it or if you have any questions for Terry we now can use his direct line for ordering at 626-914-7725. thanks 95rcobra.
I just talked with Terry over the phone. I reserved my set of the 20" chrome bad boys. I also asked him if they sold tires and mounted them. The answer was yes, That will be the route that I will go. That way when they arrive I will be able to just swap them over. I was # 3 on the reserve list, So there will be at least three good looking L's

Hey HDMINIUM, Glad to see you got your order in. SO its you, RTKILLA and myself so far for the 20's. Seriously I will tell all you guys that may want to get these 20 inchers to put a reserve on a set. there will only be 200 sets made for the first go round and the next one will not be until late summer. once the phone line opens up for the phone # in the magazine ads march 1st these sets will go quick. we are getting in the back door here with a discount before the calls from the ads start. HDminium I talked to terry about 2 hours ago and he said the tire/wheel package was no problem but did he tell you that he only deals with NITTO'S and FALCON tires. Just want to make you aware. I am sure Terry will give you a good price but always check the tirerack out. they have the best prices. thanks 95rcobra.
I sent a fax over to terry, thats all I got to do right.
The 35's aren't bad driving, but I just don't care for the looks. Maybe on a 20 it wouldn't be bad, but the 18's are to small, looks like I never lowered it now. I'm going to go with the G-force's. I know 370's allot of money to spend, but its worth it.

Should there be any worry about the quality of the wheel since it is made overseas? I see the Plateing Co. seems to be of quality, so the Chrome should be great looking but what about the wheel itself.
Hey SILVERX, I spoke to terry at Classic motorsports around 7pm tonight and asked him about the info you are looking for. First, the reason why the wheels are 9" wide instead of the stock 9.5" is so they can fit more applications than just a few. with the 9.5" width the applications are limited. So to get the 9" rim to sit in the same place as the 9.5" there is a 12mm offset to make that happen. also the casts are made overseas by a high quality manufacturer and are made with cpc manufacturing quality. they are also tested and passed by california's wheel standards. you have seen the quality of the platers. call Terry at 626-914-7725 if you need more info. he will be happy to help. thanks 95rcobra.
Thanks 95rcobra, I tried again today when I had a chance but someone picked up and I heard all the activity in the background but nobody there, called back and it was busy. Tommorow I will have time to call until I get Terry on the phone. Hope all this missed time I can still get a set. I gather that is a 12mm backspaceing?
