Cool Dyno vs Track data

Interesting information from the TALON activities of last weekend. We will fill in Mark and Chris' times on the chart when they become available.

Wow, that information really solves a lot of questions. Did anyone notice the weather info at the tract?

Notice the fellow with the straights got into the 12s! The quickest of them all was a Black Lightning!

Let me help you out with the link...It doesn't load quite right.

Question

Some really helpful info would be what sixty foot time was for that ET and/or tires used. Great stuff. Keep the information flowing. Update us with an ET for that 396 RWHP L.

Wow.....that is impressive. What is your launch technique? Water, no water? Dry hop? Stall RPM at the line? The toyo's aren't a DOT legal autocross tire or anything are they?

If your only mods are a PSP filter and chip, that completely rocks.

On mine the 60' time was 1.936. Tires are Toyo Proxes S/T in 295/45-18.

HIHOAG, Those are interesting times.

I ran at LA County Raceway Friday night.
This was my best run. It was on F1's at full weight.

60': 2.030
1/8: 8.928
1/4: 13.92
Speed: 97.67

RWHP at Sea level: 377

We must be losing a lot more Hp than I thought. Our Corrected altitude Was 3014' above sea level.

Check out the 60' time vs. yours. It is much better, et and speed were way slower.

stang351,
No the Toyos aren't a DOT legal race tire. They're a regular high performance street tire. I race in full street trim, and the chip and filter are the only performance mods. I don't change air pressure or anything. Jst drive it the track and run it like I brung it. I drive around the water box, do a very minimal burn out (really just spin a revolution or two to knock off any pebbles or dust), and then launch by stomping the brake, bringing it up to 1200 RPM, and then when I get the third yellow I release the brake as I gently feed it throttle. I can't slam the throttle down or it'll spin. On my best runs I get away from the line without even squeaking the tires.

Yes Moonshine has always been very good at getting out of the hole on street tires
Very nice 60'!!!!!

I was running on ET streets and had a hard time getting out of the hole that day for some reason.
My 60' on that run was a 1.966....

Looks like I need to work on my 60's a little more.

Hey Doug that is a great data chart

Cool

26x11.5x16ET Streets with ~20# of pressure. Smoke em a little and you're ready to go. 60' times in 5 rounds of competition were as follows:

1.829
1.837
1.869
1.837
1.825

Moonshine,

Thanks for the info. That is a great 60' time for radial tires. I'm worried that HRP will be slick when I get a chance to go. The track prep on street nights sucks. Plus all the little rice burner turds drive through the water and take it down the track with them.

I didn't know that Hallisvile was a good track. My girl friend's dad races there in his buddies 8 second Vega and explained that the track tech is "loose".

Tech is loose unless you're running for money in their bracket classes. Then you will get booted for no cage if you're in the 11s. I have a friend who found this out the hard way.

I like the track myself. Didn't get to go this time, but while its almost as far away from Dallas as it is to go to HRP...the drive sure seems shorter. Going out I-20 is a lot easier drive than down I-45.

The pit area is nothing, though. If you need to do lots of wrenching on your car, then you're screwed...you'll have sand and dirt all over you (assuming you have to do things underneath the car). Otherwise, the track is great, I think.

Pretty short shut-down compared to most 1/4 mile tracks. Trapping at 130+ in my LX means I'm _hard_ on the brakes which is different since I usually coast to the last turn-off at Ennis and HRP.

You should make it to Hallsville sometime. You'd enjoy it.

stang351,
Looking over the slips again I realized that I made an even better 60' time on a different pass. My best 60' is a 1.930, but that's on a 12.91 run. That run also produced my highest trap speed - 106.1.

Really, everyone who made it Sunday ran super times. Sixpipes and Autothrottle are always a couple 1/10's quicker than me, but I blame that on tires and mods. If I can keep those two in sight I know I'm running well.
