Cool Weee... :)

Finished my first autocross today after watching a couple last season, it's really cool. My girlfriend took alot of great pictures for me, here's a pic of one of my turns and me with my helmet:

I'll post the link with more soon as I make the page... I was the first truck to ever race at this club's Solo2 events. (www.wscc.org) Track time averages where 36-43... I ran a slowest of 42.260 and a quickest of 40.077.

Except for a ProM, I'm stock with stock-F1's (at 16,000mi on them).

Daniel

Greetings;

Indeed, the Solo II racing is FUN; went last weekend here in Atlanta; myself ('99 L), my girlfriend in her BMW M Coupe,and a friend with his '95 Impala SS.

What a blast! The Impala and the Lightning were crowd favorites; by FAR the largest vehicles in a large crowd of imports, 'Vettes (old and new) and a single SVT Cobra... Could be my 'tail out' driving style, but the announcer always seemed to have a comment about my run?!?

Times were in the 47 to 70+ second range, so my best of 60.5 seemed respectable as a novice.

If there is one of these events anywhere near you, haul *** down there and try it out. 30 bucks for the better part of a day of fun, amongst people who enjoy cars and driving, even if most of the cars are hondas!

Cool

When I first saw the pic my first thought was: "Now here is someone who parks like I do, in the back forty with cones around the truck."

Looks like fun.

Hey Mike, my email is thepawn@atlantis.edu .. should be in my profile. That HomeDepot is at the PalisadesPark Mall in West Nyack, NY. So you may have seen it. I race there with the West Chester County Sports Car Club...

GalaxyEng -- You're more then welcome to. This one would be a long drive though... There is a NJ chapter that does it at Englishtown in one of their lots as well... we could meet up for one of those..

4D - lol ..

JHCain -- Sweet! Yeah, the two "large" vehicles at this one were me and a PT Cruiser! (The PT Cruiser ran a best of 45.x I think). There were 3 vettes, 3 mustangs (one Saleen, one Cobra, one modified GT), 2 firebirds(one WS6, one Formula), a Tauros SHO, a 80's Chevy Malibu and then the slew of Toyotas, Hondas, Subarus, VWs and the wierd few exotics... There were a couple of Audi's... the pair of Vipers that showed alot last year didn't come this time, scared away by the "possible snow showers" weather report we had.

Here's a couple other shots:
