LA County Raceway Friday
I had a great time with my truck and the other Lightning gys that I met. Marcus, Bob, Phil, you are real fanatics like me.
The truck ran real well. I thought I'd post my times, so you could see what a truck will run fully loaded, at 3000' above sea level. Does anyone know that the the factor would be to to equate these to sea level?
On my first run, the truck bogged coming off the line. I left from idle and underestimated the traction and the new traction bars. You will see by the reaction times, I'm still racing the truck, not the lights.
Times:
RT: 1.270
60': 2.27
1/8: 9.75
1/4: 14.97
Speed: 89.42
I iced the intake and blower prior to the second run, and left a 800-900 RPM. This made big difference.
RT: 1.53
60': 2.03 (that's better)
1/8: 8.96
1/4: 13.97
Speed: 97.116
Third run; left at 1100 rpm
RT: 1.248
60': 2.05 (spun pretty hard)
1/8: 8.95
1/4: 13.94
Speed: 97.64
Fourth Run; dropped tire pressure to 28 psi;left at 900 rpm
RT: 1.228
60': 2.03
1/8: 8.93
1/4: 13.93
Speed: 97.67
All the runs were made with 1/4 tank of gas, spare tire, air tank, bed cover, sales literature (weight strapped to the tailgate as ballast) small tool box. I'm guessing about 5000 lbs total.
Conditions:
53-60 degrees
71% humidity
10 mph crosswind
Corrected altitude 3014'! above sea level.
I wonder what the truck would run closer to sea level?

Jay, it was cool meeting you and the others. I really do like the worksman ship of your traction bars. Very nice. Great times as well. You were doing a lot better than I was. Hope to see you there again. I plan on making a trip up to Fomoso soon, just to get real times. That 3000' above sea-level just sucks.
By the way, take off about .5 for your times.
