Question Retrax vs. RollNLock

I'm looking to purchase a retractable hard tonneau cover and have found the Retrax and RollNLock versions (thanks to this board). However, from their websites, I can't tell which one is better. The cost is close enough so that's not a factor.

Please give me your opinions! Thanks.

I'm in the exact same situation and do not know which one to get.
I know the roll'n lock is very durable, but isn't the easiest to operate. My buddy has had one for three years.
The panels are not as dark and glossy as the retrax, but other than that ?
Anyone else ?

i have the roll-n-lock. you have to drill the side rails. it is very HD. I can stand on the center of it. i have no fading and treat it with the supplied treatment oil, and it looks great after 2 years. the retrax is no drill, looks better, and not nearly as strong. depends on your needs

Thanks for that input! I don't think I'll be putting anything on top of it, and I really don't want to permanently alter the truck (yet). The Retrax is looking a little better at this point.

More comments please?

I have only seen the roll n locks and I have to admit, they looked very sturdy and pretty cool. I have posted a few pictures of my Retrax and love it. It is very sturdy although I don't know that I would put my 210 lb. body on the center of it without some reservations. On the flip side, my kids can crawl over it all day long. I have not heard any good comments on the Pace Edwards yet. Seems like you already know what your two best choses are, sounds like either one will be a good one. Tell us which one you pick and how you like it.

My Retrax is very easy to operate. About 60lbs total weight if my memory serves me correctly.

Use one finger to press the button to open the latch. Hook your thumb underneath and flick it all the way open with minimal force. Slider material is made of polycarbinate (lexan). If it's good enough for 300mph funny cars it'll hold up good on the back of your L <g>...

Awesome, thanks guys! Now I gotta save up the money... I hope taxes don't hit me too hard this year, but it's not looking good so far.
