Foe those with Pro M....danger
In doing the post mortem on my engine I discovered the A/F ratio with the Pro m was 13.4. Stock mass air was 11.0 Two separate dyno's confirmed those results. The admonishment is to dyno after any Mod that could influence A/F or timing...I learned the lesson the hard way. Is it just my advancing years or can others hear detonation at WOT with the S/C screaming? Sent the Pro M back to Best Products and they recalibrated it. Bet your a$$ I'll be much more careful in the future....Ken
Yes. I have had a rolling idle since installed. The first time I shipped it to Best Products they could find no problem and simply replaced the electronics as a precation. I sent it off again today as the rolling idle persists...Sherri told me they have a new program for the electronics! I think everyone should check their air/fuel rations...good luck to nitrous guys at high rpm without an increase in fuel! I actually got a SES (right side lean bank) code! I expect results this time. I am not a happy camper....
Ken, how did you check your a/f? Just curious. I've seen a 99 L dyno with the Pro M and full exhaust and it was about the same a/f ratio as yours. BUT, that was on a relatively cold engine( truck had been sitting for approx. 25 minutes before run). After about 6 or 7 runs without any modification (except for engine heat), it started to richen back up to the low 12's high 11's.
A/F was monitored by wide band O2.
