No I havne't had and problems with mine, There are alot of places though that gears could slip or the rods not be catching that could cause that.

 

It's possible the main gear is missing the drive gears. Pull the body off and check the adjustment.

 

yep, my buddy gave me one for Christmas. The irony is I didn't bother with building the low grade kit chasis as the body fits right on my hopped up TA-01 chasis from my old Schnitzer M3. I haven't painted it yet but soon as I do I'll post some pics for you guys (in black to match my L).

I converted an old Tamiya TA-02 chassis into my litle Lightning. I converted the chassis to rear wheel drive by pulling out the center drive shaft but I left the front drive system installed. Reason for this is because where the propeller shaft goes into the drive gear in front has a U shaped recess for the prop shaft. I rigged up an additional servo with a fiberglass wiper arm that slides into that U-groove from a 3-channel radio, acts like a line lock so the little L can do burnouts like it's big brother. Now all I need is a 3-channel radio to get the thing on the road. Of course, it's painted white with modified rear taillight stickers to match the 2000 lights.

I've been involved in R/C Cars for roughly 12 years so if anyone needs any help on this, let me know.
