I shook the shake
Last week I had a shake felt it comming through the steering wheel. Had the tires spin balanced 80 percent better but still a small shake.Today I took it back told the guy still had the shake. He says maybe in the tire. He says would you like me to rebalance them again. Real nice about it. I said sure.Well the right front tire needed a ounce and a half weight.Took it out ran her up to about 80mph,real smooth. Bob
Bob,
Glad you got it fixed....I don't know how many times I've gotten a balance job only to find it vibrates more. Then, I figured out why.
What I do is try to drive the vehicle 10-15 miles to get the tire's sidewalls good and warm. Then, immediately if possible, have them balanced. If you don't, they're cold and lop-sided, (not perfectly round) which makes for a false and incorrect balance job, even though the spin balance computer says it is. So what you feel after the sidewalls heat up and smooth out is an out-of-balance condition, which it is.
