As we speak people are createing Cal-trac or lift bars for the Lightning's, wait alittle while and I'm sure you will be reading about them soon.
There were issues with handleing when not at track also with installation as I remember just hang loose it shouldn't be very long before you start to read about them here and other sites as well.

Cool

Here is an alternative you might want to look into: http://www.activesuspension.com
I have a set on my truck and I really like them. I think they help traction and towing ability, and unlike cal-tracs they do not compromised handling.

I love my Cal's. I was seeing .2 of movement on my et.s without the bars. With them, I am always .05 within my last run and my 60' times on F1 are 1.82 - 1.85. I love mine and I understand Sal has the new bars for our trucks. This would mean that Caltrac also has them. I find the money was well spent.

Cal tracs work great but if your running stock tires forget traction. Only cure I know of with street tires is to disconnect four spark plug wires. MT ET Streets will hook up pretty good with cal tracs and a properly prepared strip. yOur 373 gears are your biggest problem. Takem out and put in 355s. I can launch with 355s and not spin. Noone with gears can make that claim at my strip, no matter what setup they are running, unless the launch at idle.

Question

I'm building a traditional set of "slapper" traction bars. I'll let you guys know how they work. I understand that the Cal-traks are very aggressive, and need slicks to work their best. I'm going to test then this friday at LA County Raceway. Stay tuned!

How are the Cal-tracs affecting handling? What are they doing to the trucks?
