Talking Back in the saddle!!!

Well, after 3 weeks and 2 days, I finally have my truck back from the dealership. They just pulled my trans and installed a new one. One neat thing I got out of the deal, the trans now has a DRAIN PLUG!!! How cool is that? Do the '01s have drain plugs? I am assuming they just replaced mine with a '01 model. Down side is I have to take it back b/c they put a 6" scuff/scratch on the driver side back fender and a couple on the driver side front fender that they are going to have to buff out. They get way under my skin. Too bad there is not another SVT dealership within 200 miles from here.

I feel your pain. I hate taking my truck to the dealer. Bob.

fyi, you do not have to take your L. to an SVT dealer for service. My experience is that the dealers who pay for the SVT license do not have any special expertise in servicing SVT vehicles, it is strictly a marketing ploy. I got my wake-up call when I took my truck in for the leaky intercooler and the service writer tried to tell me that the i/c reservoir was part of the cooling system. (To his credit he soon realized his mistake, and has been very cooperative in researching the problem with Tech Hotline). There are many on this board who get their trucks serviced at non-SVT dealers, and at least a couple don't even take them to Ford dealers because they get excellent service at their Lincoln-Mercury dealers.
