theft light flashing

theft light flashing...fixed

ok so i got in my truck to move it and i put the key in and clicked it forward the gauges lit up and when i went to start it it tried then shut off and now nothing is working and the theft liht is flashin....dead battery or do i need to reset it somehow? i just bought it today and its cranked fine all day. any ideas?

Do you have another key? Almost sounds like the PAT's system acting up...

it only came with one key. and nothing is workin on the truck except the theft light. this sucks...

I'm thinkin it's just a bad battery. Doesn't take much voltage to keep that light flashing.

well i wasn't planning on doing anything to it yet i mean i havnt even driven the first tank of gas out..but i'm thinkin optima yellow top. if i'm changing the battery as long as the key isnt in the ignition i'll be good with the pats system right?

Welcome trucknut, congrads on your purchase, good luck.

Mine was doing the same thing after it had been run and I attemted to restart. Turned out it was an overheating (defective) starter relay.
My theft lamp was flashing,lights worked etc. but wouldn't crank.

finally got a chance to look at it. started at the battery...there was crap on the terminals....didnt look like it but i pulled them off and sanded it and vroom...shes purred
