Question Why would the theft light flashes when cranking engine?

I just installed the 90 mm MAF and the reburn chip. I went to fire it up to test drive it. And the truck would not start and the theft light flashes rapidly.

Any help would be great.

Try re-doing the chip. It may not be connected very well or making good contact. This has happened to me before.

If you have a CUX1, then the chip might have been burned for a CUX2 by mistake. Or the other way around ....hope this helps

Mine has done this with a few chips and the contacts are clean. SuperChips says that if you have a early '99 L that you make have to take the computer out and solder a part on it. Now most have not had that problem, but the biggest problem is that you need to bend the lip on where the computer sits as it makes the chip sit on an angle. This is the most common problem or else just pull the chip and re-install it.

Chances are if it's a REBURN, your contacts should be clean enough. Check again, if it's a no-go, contact your VENDOR and see if accidentally they sent you a reburn for the wrong year
