Post TRANNY PROBLEMS?

After testing with a g-tech pro i noticed really hard shifts between 1st and 2nd.
i put it off for 2 days then it started to slip in and out of gears.

i brought it to my local ford dealer and they said i over-reved the truck. They reset the computer and it was fine for about an hour. then it started back up again. 2 days later they were replacing the tranny and never gave me a reason.

ANY ONE ELSE WITH TRANNY PROBLEMS?

I took a road test with one of the trans techs yesterday. The transmission slips momentarily at 60mph, if I'm accelerating. The RPM's jump from 2800 to 3100 and then back to 2900.

He said they'll test it and if the computer/diagnostics don't show anything, they'll "black box" it and order a new one instead of chasing an unknown cause.

BTW, my mileage during the road test was 11,020.

With that in mind, would Ford consider installing a different torque converter while they're replacing the tranny? What position does Ford take on aftermarket torque converters regarding the warranty?

I had my tranny replaced at 11K miles. It was doing the same thing with slippage and not wanting to shift from 2nd to 3rd. They replaced the whole transmission and didn't say a thing.

I brought my 2000 F-150 Supercab 4x4 with 12,000 miles to Ford dealer b/c of hard shifting between 2nd and 3rd. The dealer dropped the tranny (4R70W) and discovered that a clunk sprng had come out of position. Shifts fine now.

Um...yea. My truck is in the shop now (has been for 3 weeks). My second gear is completely gone. They are replacing mine as well. They stated the transmissions are on backorder and it would take a week or two to get it here.
