New World Record ET !!!!

DMP has done it again...

Quickest s/c boost only Gen 2...

FFW Fontana California, 10/18/2007 mid afternoon, a hot and muggy day, temps at times 80+F, DA approx 5000' per Jim@JDM (nice meeting you Jim), truck having issues with an intermittent miss on cylinder #3, first run out:

1.47 60'
10.42 ET

Made some small adjustments to the suspsension, iced her down again, and second run out:

10.032 @ 128.19mph ! ! ! !

This was in the Quick Challenge bracket class. With Dante behind the wheel, he lifted to try to slow for the bracket dial-in of 10.42 and rolled through the traps at the slow mph of 128. This was easily a 9 second run. Unforunately due to being disqualified for that run, and the 70+ mph winds of today cancelling the event, we could never get another run in...

To let everyone know the stats on the DMP race truck; we have a GT block with 2 valve heads, and a KB 2.6H running 17.5#'s of boost. Yes that is right, 17.5#'s of boost. The only changes that have been made since last year was the rearend and shock location. We swapped in a 9" rear utilizing the "stock style suspension" and new shocks...

Once we get some more time on the track with the new rearend and shocks, we might up the boost and see what happens ...

Pics will be posted soon ... Stan

I just read on NLOC that it is 3650 lbs. So that would make that run about a 10.6xx or so if it was street weight. 10.03 is still not bad, even for a purpose built drag machine.

Not too long ago, before we did the bed work and rearend swap, we still had two batteries, heavy first style innovation tonneau, the stock bumper and brakcetry and ran 10.34 at 135. We dropped weight but couldnt ever get good 60's. Now we have the 60's down some and it is starting to show. The power is there, hence the reaosn why we never even upped the boost. Some of the ET calculators estimate that same run a 9.87 if he wouldnt have lifted.

Note the conditions as well.

And that's with Dante letting up.

I mentioned that in my first post. Running a 10.03 at a DA of 5000ft is pretty darned impressive. I believe that same pass in the area I live in(Dallas, Texas) could have easily been 3-4 tenths quicker.
