I'd pull the chip, to see if the problem persists. maybe a conflict with Swanson shift signals and the now higher pressure of the TransGo. might need a reburn to include TransGo mod, or to lower your shift points, if your now hitting the limiter, as your mechanic suggested

Installed the Level 10 kit in mine and it works great. No chip re-burn needed.

Angry Truck shifts like doo doo

Had mechanic install TransGo shift kit in truck a couple weeks ago. Test drove it once and it seemed OK, but never really got on it 'til Sunday when I launched hard against a couple of bikes in the next lane. When I got to the point where the truck should have shifted, it didn't, it just sort of stuttered for a second before changing gears, while the bikes disappeared. Tried it again a couple times and same thing happened. It shifts fine under part throttle, but doesn't seem to want to shift right away when I stand on it. Took it by the mechanic's yesterday, and he said it sounded like the truck was bumping up against the rev limiter. Any theories why this is happening, and what the cure might be?

Talking

I'm so happy for you, Silver-bolt.
Thanks, BBQ, I talked to Danny Swanson, and since I just ordered a TB I'll wait until it arrives and have him install it and we'll play with the chip settings then. Just relieved to know that it isn't a mechanical problem, but something that can be cured with a re-burn.

Angry

Did a test launch today, and it did the 1-2 shift bang, just fine. Darn, I hate intermittant problems.

Just a couple of thoughts, late at night, so YMMV. Since the chip programmer knows the revs will pick up quickly in 1st gear, they leave a margin to prevent running into the rpm limiter. So now you have changed the gearbox characteristic with the shift kit. Probably the margin is now too small. Sometimes it might make it(good traction for instance).
