2001 Wheels vs. 2000 Wheels (Specs)
For the 3 or 4 people out there who think the 2001 wheels look good, some info for you:
Specs
2001 wheel part number: 1L3Z-1007-AA
2000 weight: 31.0 lbs / wheel & center cap
2001 weight: 35.0 lbs / wheel & center cap
Both sets of wheels are exactly 9.5" wide (bead-to-bead). I verified this because a lot of places list the Lightning wheels as 18x9.
For the 2001, rotor hat to inside edge of spoke is ~70mm (Brembo upgrade requires 37mm)
The rotors are more visible and look much smaller under the 2001 wheels, I guess because the spokes are further out.
Availability
They are available. I ordered a set and received it in 1 week.
You just have to get to the right vendor... the wrong vendors will say that all the wheels are going to build the 2001's right now, you'll have to wait 3-4 months... you have to prove you're a 2001 owner to get replacements, blah, blah, blah.
www.oemfordparts.com has them for $260/each
www.fordpartsonline.com has them for $230/each
About a month ago, F150online (Roger) told me he would have them available April-ish - I dont have an update.
KarKraft and Tire rack dont have availability dates yet.
Anyway, I really like the way they look, I'm trying to get another set for my race tires...

This may be a stupid question, or one that I could toil through the archives for, but here goes:
Will the 2001 wheels fit my lowly '99? I remember various threads about differing stud/nut/wheellock sizes, but the pattern IS the same, isn't it?

Brimstone: Arent' you running the Supercar tires? How's traction??
Blacklight: Ask about the center cap... I had to order them additional or a few bucks...

Caka: I think chrome would look incredible. And I have been thinking about "BABolt-widening" my 2001s... maybe
Alpha: Most people are running the Goodyear supercar 315/40/18 on the 10.5s. You could also just use the stock rubber - 295/45/18 will fit 9.5-11". Tire/road contact patch will still be increased because of the wider rim.
Jim: The bolt pattern / hub centric specs, etc. are all the same. The only diff is that the '01 bolt holes are 2mm wider than the '00 bolt. IHMO, this is too small to make a difference... I'd do it in a second.

I've been giving serious consideration to widening my wheels 1" and chroming them. I guess if you wanted to you could order two wheel and have them widened and chromed. Install them on the back and take the backs; have them chromed and then installed on the front. With this swap you can keep the truck on the road and only have to buy 2 wheels. 315's on the back with a lowering kit will give this truck some serious attitude.
hello everyone, i have a 2001 4.2 sport, will those wheels fit my truck? i am pretty sure they will. i think all of fords wheels for the f-series are the same. can i get a set of those for my truck even though it is not a lightning? thanks...
