Post NE1 used Autobytel, Carpoint or Autonation??

Anyone use Autobytel, Carpoint or Autonation to purchase their L?? Or did anyone attempt to use these services?? What's the verdict?

Thanks,

I tried Autobytel, but the response was too slow. All they did is try and hook us up with a local dealer. We were ready to buy, not shop around.

I used Autobytel, but was pretty disappointed with the service. They put me in contact with a dealer, but didn't have anything to do with price. I can do that on my own. They gave me a contact name at the dealer who was supposed to call me within 3 days... never got a call (which is the dealers fault, not Autobytel).
So after the 3 days passed and no call, I just called that dealer and asked about the Lightning. They said they had the last one for the year (of course that wasnt true either since I saw another one on the lot a few weeks later) and it was a white one too. I went down there to look at it, not buy it, but I know the rest of you know how it is when you drive these things... I ended up driving home in my Lightning that night.
After my sales guy worked the deal out and got me started on the paperwork, the finance guy tried to give the sale to the person who had the Autobytel lead. That didn't fly at all.. I made sure they knew that neither Autobytel or the salesman who received the lead had anything to do with the sale. I bet that sales guy felt pretty dumb when he found out that I came in and bought it from someone else, 1 day before the end of the month! He could have had the sale just as easily, but oh well. I have my truck and am completely happy with it!

Yeah, I'm not sure how ABT makes their money, they say it's free to the consumer and never mention any fees. I went thru ABT twice, once for a 2K GT vert and a Jeep Wrangler, both times I got a call the next day, but I didn't buy, timing was off. Keep in mind these cars are readily avaliable. The L is rare, if they don't have it they don't call. That's my guess.

The cool thing about my two experiences is if you're ready, you can pretty much close the deal over the phone, both parties are on agreement on price, terms etc... you can cut the game playing, goto the dealer and head straight to the internet sales guy.
