Sorry for digging up a old old question but my eyes are about to pop out of my head reading everything after I did a search.
What cam choices do I have on a 94 Lightning with a roller conversion, AFR 185s,stock intake(lower ported),bassani equal headers,stock conv,stock gears,stock injectors,and still keep the speed density,good idle and drivablity.

 

You are probably better off posting in the Gen1 forums, but here's a link to an article with some Gen 1 Lightning's. There is specific listing for the camshaft they are running. It may be of some help to see what others are using:
