John,

I have to find a couple of small self-tapping screws to attach the keypad to the handle. Make sure you don't use something too big or you can crack the handle itself.

Question

How much $$$$ is the keypad.I locked my keys
in the L the other day. My Explorer that i traded in for my L had the keypad on it. I
would keep the code in my wallet. I had to
call my better half to bring my extra key.
What a pain in the a$$.

****** I tried to find what screws are used but we could not find them in the computer. Whenever we would bring up the diagram of a keypad there was no picture or information of how it attached to the door handle.

FRITZ - Depending no who you know at ford will depend on your price. I would say it costs about $100. I got the keypad today for $51 and the handle for $34 because I know the guy behind the parts counter.

John...

I just did this install a week ago. Take the handle and the keypad to any hardware store and get the correct screw to hold the keypad to the handle. It isn't neccessary to get one from Ford.

FRITZ...

I paid $130 total for the new handle and keypad. $.08 for the screw from Lowes. Took about 1 hour to install it.

Post Question on KeyPad install?

I just got the keypad it self and was looking at it. I noticed that there is no hardware in the box. How does this connect to the handle? I am not at home right now so I can't play with it. If I remember correctly the handle has screw holes in it. Is that how you attach the keypad, or is there another way?

Thanks

John
