Cool

FD - make it easy on yourself - just replacing the muffler is alot of time, money and work! Replace it with a cat back system that has a warranty, top quality mandrel bent stainless pipe throughout, a stainless muffler and polished tips. Borla and Bassani have mellow sound and good looks. Keep in mind that you may have to trade the wife and largest bank account to buy 'em!

DJY - if your 12468 is very quiet, the 12568 must be like a silencer - guess I'm a little surprised as I thought the 12468 was noticably louder than stock - I'll have to re-think my planned buy of the 12568 --

Magnaflow install went great! Super-cool shop, let me take pics of process. The only drawback was they did not have a mandrel bender and had to source a 1997 F-150 dual adapter kit(?) and make the tailpipes fit. Cost me $100 more but what the hell, it's only money.

Overall sound is a bit louder than stock. Nice rumble at idle and no drone at 35, 50, or 65mph+. Tap into some boost and it sounds great!! just like it should. The tips need a bit of getting used to but I like 'em. Pics of the install (as well as Lotek pod photos) are now up at my Zing site.

Good luck!

Any gains or losses in HP or Torque with the install of the Magnaflow 12468?

Seat-o-meter tells me no. Timeslips will tell the tale.

Last Friday I had the Magnaflow Muffler
#12468 installed it is really well made with a built in X pipe you can see right through. It is a very very quite muffler that only has a little deeper sound than stock. The beauty of this muffler you don't get any irrating sounds in your cab while driving at any speeds like I had with my Flowmaster Muffler. The installer had to mount the muffler at an angle because the way the muffler is designed. The muffler shop had to mandrel bend 2 new 2.50 pipes from the muffler to my stock Ceramic tips. This muffler can not be installed at home it takes some custom bending of pipes and welds to have installed I really suggests a good Muffler shop. If you want a good quite muffler this is the muffler!
