buddy needs help

Question buddy needs help

one of my buddies i s having problems with his 02 lightning. Not sure if its a dirty maf or what.

the truck idles fine and revs fine once is in neutral but when you put it in drive the engine starts vibrating and it kinnda hessitates when you get on the gas. any ideas and it is not throwing any codes.

Sounds like fuel delivery....... pressure check at the rails??

thanks guys, ill let him know when i roll by his house. we really cant figure this out. hes gonna bring it to the local ford performance tuning shop tuesday morning.

I agree with the above, start with plugs and a fuel filter then post the results and we'll move on.

we just brought the truck in and the mech told us is either the plugs or the coilpacks. he's looking at it as we speak. is it common for the coilpacks to go bad?

CP's will thro a code and tell you which one is bad, Had CP's go bad but never a plug...

turned out the vibration was coming from the torque converter. it is just about shot.which one do you all recommend? the cops and the plugs are good.

i read somewhere that some diesel trucks also have the same tranny. will that fit on the lightning trans?

we brought the truck to the shop where the they found out that the tranny fluid was darker than usual for the miles on ther truck. The trans was flushed, everything was checked and double checked and now it runs smooth as silk, so he saved 1000's in repairs.
