I just hit the 500mile mark tonight. I have been driving the snot out of it so far. I asked around and I have no got a definate answer, so I stick to the "break it in like you'll dive it" theory.

I asked the same question when I got my 2000. Your going to get mixed answers. Do a search on the topic and you will get a bunch of answers. Some people will tell you if you take it easy on the truck then it will be slow. I found that not to be true! I took it very easy on my L for the first 1500 like is says in the manual and on the web site. My truck is very quick and bone stock was getting 10 psi and 12 with a chip.

I did what the SVT FAQ said to do. I figure you can't go wrong with that. If anything were to happen you could tell the dealer you followed the procedure SVT recommended.
