Question Sixpipes, ? on your exhaust tips

I saw your pics on the exhaust tips you installed. How much of the tips did you use (inches) I went out & looked at the stock tips, & there is a bend in the stock pipes just before they come out the side of the truck. How much did you cut off the stock, & did you just weld the new tips on??? Do you like the tips sound as to the stock tips? Also what did you go with the square ones?? Would you do the squre ones again or the round ones? Sorry so many questions, but I think I am going to buy the tips for better looks.

Thx Don

Yoda, He must be on the road again. I thought I would send this back to the top and will tell him about your post either tonight or tomorrow. Take Care!

Cool

Yoda - After I got my chrome 20" wheels, the stock exhaust just didn't look right to me so I decided to get polished stainless steel. Because the wheels kind of had the triangle look I decided to steer away from round and go with something that would complement the overall look I was after. I also didn't want them sticking way out so I got the 6" Borlas. Just wanted kind of the stealth look, but liked the intercooled feature. Sound is a little less mellow and has just a little edge to it at WOT.

As far as installation, the stock tips were cut off just in front of the clamp so the original tips are intact. Since the tips I got were 45 degree slashers, the angle was about right to run them directly off of the exposed stock 2.5 inch pipes leaving the stock hangers in place.
