No reason, I just saw it and judging by the plate I figured the owner must have been an enthuseist (sp).

Why, is it top secret info!?!

There were some pics and a story posted on the wreck last fall, also showing the C-5 Vette the dude was trailering when he went off roading. OUCH!

Someone was looking for the owner just last week. I was under the impression that the truck now has a new frame.

I can't believe that's all that happened to both of them after reading the story. The truck doesn't look like 19k worth of damage. Hidden stuff, I'm sure. I wonder what it could be bought from the insurance co. for? I see alot of good parts there.

In those pix, it doesn't look so bad in the ditch until you get to pic 6 and can see the bed with respect to the cab... OUCH! Glad everyone is alright, though. Just curious, though... which was was he going on the road? Did it slide off the left shoulder across oncoming traffic, or did it spin around when it hit the ditch?

Wow! Thanks for posting the link. Looks like it was a bad deal. I agree the truck didn't look that bad on the copartfinder site. Looks like the frame may be badly bent.

Be Safe,
Steve

That was my truck!

The accident occurred on I 70 in Missouri and I have been told that the truck is in Southern California and is receiving many upgrades, like converting it to a Supercab, etc.

The frame was toast. Luckily the insurance company totalled it and cut me a check for MSRP. Found another for less than that, of course.

My new plate reads "Z06 PULR".

After I passed out, I drove off of the right side of the highway at about 70 mph and almost made it to a parallel access road. There was a small swale between the highway and the access road. However, I came to a stop in a ditch in between two large concrete pipes. One of which went under the highway and the other under the access road.

I am very lucky to have survived it because, if I would have hit something solid at that speed . . .

I can see that this has already turned into an "urban legend."

See ya!

Thumbs up

Jim, Thanks for the info. Glad to hear everything turned out ok. I was just looking at wrecks on www.copartfinder.com and happened across your old truck. I saw the plate and figured the owner must have been into cars.

Thanks for telling the story!

Steve
