Post Is the factory bed cover worth it?

I eventually want to get a hard cover (security and looks) but is it worth it to get the soft one from the factory in the mean time? Is the quality up to par with aftermarket soft covers or is it a complete waste of money?
Thanks,
Roger

z96, I have the factory cover. Negotiated to have it put on along with a bed liner. I like it a lot, fit is good, won't come off at very high speeds. Yesterday, I had to haul something large, cover and supports came off in about 2 minutes, and back on when I was done in the same time. I park my truck outside as well, and its nice not to have leaves, etc collect in there. Also easier to clean a cover than the whole bed when it's bath time for the truck.

I got the factory Harley Davidson soft tonneau cover. I like it, good quality aluminum frame secures under the frame rails, nice big HD in the middle, all the snaps have the harley bar and shield, pics in zing album. I know it is a personal taste not all of us have a Harley Davidson, and I'm sure some of you wouldn't even want to. I love mine though... Bill

I have the factory cover and find it very nice both fit and quality. I don't want to bother with having a hard cover painted or taken it off in the event I need to carry something.

If you can get it for the $150 I would do it.

I like it. You will pay much more if you get it at the parts dept. vs factory. It is worth the factory cost not the parts cost. I have rolled the cover up and taken the bows out more times than I can remember. You can't do that without planing (with a helper) with the hard covers. It is also fairly water tight. I also have the Bedrug liner, and that makes a very good and versatile setup.
