Think about the chipenfilter as your first mod...

Oh, yeah. All CAPS aren't cool. Just thought I'd let you know before everyone else does.

Welcome aboard!

A chip and filter would be the best for a first mod. JDM, JL, PSP, Swanson, Superchips have been the most I hear on this site. I believe it's a toss up between JDM and JL for the best chips, but I couldn't tell you as they don't make one for my truck, yet! Also check the SVTperformance.com. Damn good site. There is a link in my sig. Congrads on buying the Lightning.

I UNDERSTAND WE WERE ALL EXCITED, when we got our trucks Time to get a grip, hehe. I agree with the above, chip N filter. Here's the PSP site, has those things and a lower pulley, elec fan, By an L owner, for L owners, i like that, but its another resource for you.

Cool

Welcome over from the dark side. Get the chipenfilter combo and go from there. And shhhh, stop yelling with your caps lock key.

You didn't say what year your truck was, but since its new I assume its an '01. The others are right, chip 'n filter give you the most bang for your buck, but I don't think there are any chips available for the '01s yet. Next mod should be a crank pulley, if JDM ever ships the darn things. Those mods should cost you under $800, and if you have an '01 it should be close to a 12 second truck. And if it is an '01 I find it hard to believe it is slower than your SS. R&T says an SS does the 1/4 in 13.9, and your truck, stock, should be good for 13.6. However, sitting as high as you do in the truck makes your perception of speed much slower than in a low slung car. At first I found myself constantly underestimating my speed by 20 mph. With the few mods I have in my truck now I have no trouble with a stock LS1, and when I get my TB and pulley in I am looking at 12s. Try this in any other vehicle that can tow a 6500 lb. boat.

Wink

First thing you should change is your name. Then put in a JDM or a JL chip.
