Question

Looks good. I guess I am going to have to do that. My rubber mat just looks too cheesy. I was reluctant before because I thought they sprayed over the mounting bolts, etc., but I see I was wrong. (Gee, and I've just used up my quota of errors for 2001). I'm also wondering about the friction properties (I don't want my dogs sliding around back there), and the cost?

Never mind, I'm sure that they will have a booth at the Fred Hall Show. And Line-X has an excellent web site and dealer locater. http://www.line-x.net/

It cost me about 400.00.
They told me that silicone based products like armoral shouldn't be used as they will make the surface very slippery. But as it is, the surface has some friction (feels rough), so I would think a dog would be fine in the back.
I was mainly concerned with gettingthe bed all scratched up and then rusted.

alphadoggy, my Kenco rubber mat used to hit the back window when I got up around 125MPH, interesting experience when all your senses are already at full throttle. I went with the Line-X too and I love it. I doubt your dogs would slide around but if your curious I'm sure the dealer has samples you can check out.

Well, 4D, haven't had my truck to 125 (yet), but have had to make a couple of panic stops from 110 or so, and the rubber mat just rolls itself up then. What I don't like is that it tends to creep, and get stuck in the gap by the tailgate. Line-X is definitely the way to go, and if it presents a problem for the dogs I can always throw the mat on top of it when I haul them.

It looks real good, they did a fine job. I went with the bedrug, I don't plan on using the bed for carrying anything that would do any damage so the BEDRUG seemed the best choice for me.

Looks good! Nice truck...

I wonder what Ford was thinking when they decided to use the new "Ricey" taillights on the 01 Lightnings??

Just curious, but why did they remove the bed mounting bolts, rather than just spraying over them? I went with the Rhino-Lining, which is basically the same as a Line-X. This is the second Rhino I've had, and I've been very happy with both. I think you'll like the Line-X.

That may be your opinion and everyone is entitled to there own, but, it seems to be a dwindling one at that.
Just this weekend, I had two Lightning owners of earlier models try to convince me to trade my tail lights with them, and I've noticed that several 99 and 2000 owners have the clear "ricey" tails on order.
I happen to think that they look great, and have had several people make the same comments to me about them.
You don't even have an L though (if your sig is correct) so why would you even care.

I for one, traded my 99 L to get the new stuff, including the clear tails.

I went with the Rhino lining and they removed the bed bolts before they sprayed it.

I went with the Line-X spray in (Dark grey on Red L) and they sprayed over the big bed bolts. Very heavy coat. Although they removed the small bolts holding the panel on the inside of the tailgate before spraying.

I saw RedRacer's and I like it. Eventually, I will have mine done.

PLUS if my 01 rears ever arrive, I will be very happy. Until I think that I should order the 01 fronts. Then I will be happy. Until I decide to order the 01 third brake lights. Then I will be happy. Until... This is never ending
