Magnaflow Exaust and Cat Removal?
Magnaflow Exaust and Cat Removal?
I recently got a good deal on a used Magnaflow exaust and now its just a matter of getting it mounted and having side exit pipes welded and some nice tips put one. So my question is...what are your opinions on Magnaflow, and would removing my cat benefit me at all? I know this can go either way depending on the application. Im bone stock for now until the exaust, intake and a #4 pulley and tune down the road.
Not sure really if cutting out cats hurts or helps on a Lightning. But I can tell you that running no cats and with a magnaflow catback exhaust it's loud!! This is my exact setup. It sounds mean though. I plan on eventually getting a set of mid pipes with hi flow cats to quieten it back down some again. Personally running with no cats at all is too loud. Now if I was still 18 or so I would say there is no such thing as too loud
I just got a magnaflow exhaust on my L and had a question about the cats. If i were to remove the cats, should i remove only two out of the four? Is that bad? I want it really loud and it just isnt loud enough. If i were to remove two cats, one from each side, would i just use a straight pipe back to the muffler? Thanks.
