Class Action Lawsuit

Has anyone on this site received notification of a class action lawsuit against Ford F-150's manufactured 2000 and 2001? The claim says Ford knowingly installed the wrong thickness radiator (1.02" thick when it should have installed a 1.42") thick radiator for vehicles with the class III towing package. Just curious - as I know original owners might be scarce.

Wow. Haven't heard this. I'm an original owner of an '01. I'll let you know if I see a notice.

That doesn't apply to us. 99-00 have the cooling system from the Diesel HD. Cooling systems in our trucks are excellent.

Thanks Trackbeast

For pointing out the excellent cooling systems our L's have. I really wasn't aware. I've had my truck for seven years now, problem free with minimum mods - Swanson Stage 1 tune. I keep thinking it's time to get a new vehicle, but I haven't found anything (in my price range) that provides the thrills and enjoyment of the L.

I think that may be an old notice. Back in the day, ford was giving $500 back on purchase of a new truck for anyone with an 00 or 01 F150 with the tow package because the dealer literature said you got a heavy duty trans cooler when you didn't.

Of course you didn't need one. I had a car trailer behind my 00 F150 through all kinds of summer traffic and never had one issue. I didn't cash in my certificate even though I was trading for a new truck, because I thought it was BS. I'm sure the lawyers made out like bandits though.

If it is a new lawsuit it's even more BS. Don't participate in that crap.

That suit was already settled. It had to do with advertising one thing but installing another. The new single row radiator proved to be as good as the old double and much better than the old single row. The settlement was a check for $150 or radiator replacement for original owner by a certain date. I took the check. I am over 110K now with original radiator and have never had an overheating issue even while towing.
