Talking Some More PHOTOS!

I took the 2000 Lightning out today for some testing and just broke the 500 mile mark.

I pulled the stock throttle body and no oil residue.

No oil residue in the upper adapter either.

What else could I do?

Wink

I installed the billet oval bore throttle body and in this photo if you look at the fan you can see that it is running. (Yea I know I left the return spring loose).

Nice steady idle too.

Cool

HI!... BABOLT : What else can you do? HUMMM. How about sending your aluminum intake trac that runs between the TB and the supercharger to EXTRUDE HONE? From your pics there, it looks pretty rough with a ton of "castings" in it. Those two things combined will really hurt air flow. Hope this suggestion helps you out.

If it only has 500 miles it better not have the oil in there. Keep posting the photos BA, it keeps us all happy around here.

Hi Guys! (Neal, Speeding Bob and Travis)
Thanks for the reply. Yes I know the intercooler fluid is a tad low but it is at the same level when I purchased the vehicle in September. I bought it off the Ford resale lot and it had a whopping 37 miles on the odometer. Since it was used (yea sure) it had a good price. The Ford dealer performs no pre-delivery service on these vehicles. So the level has not change since I marked it in September. As for the oil in the intake track I also took my 99 apart and there was no oil there either. What I do is run my vehicle at 5 and 1/2 quarts of oil and this is also suppose to be the best level for performance too. As for the intake track I have been cutting them open for a year now and I port them myself. Cold day in hell before I go to Extrude-Hone, they want more then I pay for the castings plus I will not trust the billet engraving to anyone.

Oh yes! I ported the inside of my supercharger too.

(not to step on anyones toes), but Eddie, BaBolt is the master mind, and creator behind all this awesome stuff you see before you. I'm not sure if it helps at all for it being billet, the the single blade helps throttle response, and gives a little h.p and tq on the side. I hope Ba will soon be able to sell these things so I can get ahold of them and try them out on my 01 truck. Especially since for the past 2 weeks now, I've been able to go up to a 1/4 track and race 3-5 times in one night.

Mike, does any of this make any performance difference to speak of? Or does it just look great?

Jerry,
Every modification that I have made is directed to performance and aesthetics. I believe that the two go hand in hand just like form following function. I also believe that a quality item should fit the application. I would never think to ask someone to cut up of make irreversible modification to their vehicles. I also test every item both for driveability and on the dyno too so that I can document the performance increases. With all of these factor taken into consideration you can then understand why I refer to my items as BABolt-On's

Whoa, whoa. 5 and 1/2 quarts of oil? I have to run 6 and 1/2 to get it to the fill line! What gives?
