Talking GOT MY NEW 2001!

Hi everyone, I just picked up my new Silver 2001 lightning on Friday! This truck is amazing. I have been driving it all over the place, trying to get a few miles in before it rains. Everyone eyes it when I drive by, it's bitchen! The handling is unbelievable, no other truck can compare! I am gonna post some pics of my new Silver L tonight.

Glad you are happy with your new acquisition. Weather permitting you and Marcus ought to caravan up to LACR together and get us some '01 times.

Tom, congrats on the truck! Can't wait for you to get some miles on her so we can go race each other. George is right, we both need to go to LACR, I'm always the only Lightning there. It sucks.

Got my red 01 L a couple weeks ago. Very nice. I kept my Camaro as a daily driver, and now it seems like a boat. Hard to imagine after driving a pickup.

I just passed the 600 mile mark, got the oil changed for fun (non-synthetic). I'll do it again at 1000 w/ Mobil 1.

Tell me: Is this thing supposed to lay serious rubber w/ nothing more than WOT off the line, or do people do that only by holding the brake, or by revving 1500 or so and dropping it?

Maybe my tires are just too new.

WOT should light them up. Should not need to power brake it. With a few mods you will be wishing it could find traction in 3rd. Give a few mile to loosen up.

Way to go Ciione! Personally I don't like LACR, but I do like to cruise down the Pacific Coast Highway! It gives me such a sense of freedom! Just a piece of advice, don't gun the motor on shifts at a higher RPM because the valve train tends to flutter. Talk to you later...

George, that sound like a great idea! I am always up for that. Marcus I will soon be joining ya at the LACR and wwe'll have some good fun with the trucks.
F15FOX I am moving to Palos Verdes in August. I am attending Marymount college, so I am sure I will see you around and I'll probably do a lot of driving on the PCH. For now my turf is Mulholland. Very nice to drive that at 1:30am when there is no one out and you can see the lights from the city. Very nice. I will be posting some pics in a little bit.

ciione,

You had it right the first time if you take out the quotation marks.
