Question about Liquid Glass autopolish.
I talked to a guy yesterday who used Liquid Glass. The car really had a nice gloss to it.Has anyone used this product? And does it remove the swirl marks in the paint? Bob.

Liquid glass is a great product.I have used it on different vehicles. It will help in covering swirl marks, but will not remove them.Swirl mark removers are petro-chemical base and are fillers. They are band-aids for another problem, scratches.I prefer to remove the swirl marks with a polish and glaze process rather than a temporary fix.If you use liquid glass, follow the instructions exactly.Liquid Glass is a polymer base and must not be applied over carnauba base waxes or other solid based wax.You must start with a clean surface for the Liquid Glass to work properly.I like to use a polymer as a base, putting on at least three coats minimum.Make sure you allow a day of cure between coats. Then if you like, you can apply other types of wax on top of your polymer base, after it has a good cure.

I have been using Liquid Glass on my 99 since delivery. As far as removing or covering up swirls, does it matter, as long as they don't show up. With a black truck swirls are a problem. Another plus with Liquid Glass is it doesn't turn white when you get excess on the plastic trim. But as Y2K said, "read the directions" as you MUST remove the old wax with a cleaner. Off to Busch Gardens for the rides and beer, on vacation in 80 degee temps while it is snowing back home. WOOOOOHOOOOOOO

I prefer to remove swirl marks with a buffing wheel or an orbital buffer.I said polish and glaze as a generic term.In other words,a light compound or abrading of the surface.I use use very light compounds that have no silicone or oils that removes scratches rather than filling them. This way they (swirl marks)are no longer there. When the wax is gone, the swirl marks do not come back. But if you keep your swirl marks covered with something that does truly hide them (even in the sun)it does not matter. Then I start with the Liquid Glass process.Just one of many ways to deal with a cosmetic issue.Take pride in what you hide!
I bought Zaino for my truck. In their directions they also said you needed to remove any wax from the vehicle first. They suggested using Dawn liquid dish detergent in warm water to cut the wax. Tom
