Cool Pulled The Lightning Out Of Storage And...

...what a blast. Boy it feels good to go fast again. She started right up on the first crank. Not bad after 3-1/2 months. Heated her up and headed to the highway. Only odd thing I noticed was the Temp Gauge showed way higher. Never driven it in the winter. Is this for real or is my thermostat sticking?

Once on the highway, up to 180 km/h in a blink. Got the tires warm and worked out there minor flat-spotting.

Now why on earth would I pull my L out of storage with a month of winter left? Good question!! I joined the ranks of ship-jumpers and need to strip off my many extras. Come Monday - say goodbye 2000 Red Lightning, say HELLO 2001 Red Lightning. Can't wait!

Of course I'm going to have to put it back in storage for a month.

I think a 2001 will look good with chrome '00 rims, no????

What04,
The 2001 would surely look stellar w/chrome '00 wheels, but I've read that '00 wheels will not interchange, (with the '01 due to the Brembo brake set-up....I may be misinformed however.

That would surely bum me out. However, I'm thinking that the '01 wheels are able to clear the Brembos, but mounting and such is the same. Can't see there being a problem.

00 wheels will fit fine. The 01 wheels will clear Brembo brakes if you happen to upgrade to them. 01 does not have Brembo's from the factory.

Tim, I hope I get the chance to see how my chip'n'filtered 99 will fare against a stock 01. Can't wait until Cayuga opens up (if the snow ever stops that is). Congrats on the new ride I was (and still am) contemplating upgrading to a silver 01.

I hate it when I forget to include my sig

Cool

Hey What04,
Those chrome rims will definitely not fit!
And just to show what a nice fellow I am, I'll take them off your hands!
Anxiously waiting for your reply...

Snakepit: You are a very funny guy!! Not!! j/k

SnowPlow: What, me drag race? That's unpossible. Looking forward to it. I'll let you know shortly if the trade is worth it. Had lots of problems and hoping that I can rid myself of them, at my expense of course.

What04,
If you don't mind me asking what did it cost you to trade. If you don't want to post it you can e-mail me. I am currently dealing on trading my 00 in for a 01 and want to see how it compares. How many miles are on your 00?
Thanks Brian
